The Brief
Hassell Studio and Bowler James Brindley (BJB) needed a bathroom surface that could carry a colour-driven maritime design concept consistently across a large multi-room hotel programme — without the variation, grout lines, or maintenance overhead that scale introduces.
The surface needed to meet five-star housekeeping standards under high-frequency cleaning cycles, while holding the finish quality and colour depth the design demanded.
Material Specification
Corian® Solid Surface — Evening Prima
Evening Prima — a deep blue with metallic flecks — reinforced the maritime design narrative across bathroom vanities, shelving, and bath fronts, fabricated by Manooga Products. The non-porous surface eliminates grout lines and material junctions, meeting hotel hygiene requirements without compromising finish quality.
Design Outcome
Corian® held the specification consistently across every room it was installed — the same colour, the same finish, the same surface performance. The non-porous fabrication eliminated grout lines and material junctions that complicate hotel housekeeping protocols.
