Stack Street Residence

Designer, Mal Carboy, has taken an uninspiring kitchen and elevated it to centre-stage for his clients, using Corian® to achieve his modern, high-end vision.

As the clients are avid entertainers, they wanted to utilise the entre room as a kitchen that accesses the deck and pool areas. Their existing kitchen was split into two areas and neither worked properly; therefore, Mal needed to design for an expansive area without the feeling of totally dominating the room. As entertaining is important to them of which a great deal is done in the evening, Mal wanted to create a dark, intimate and modern kitchen that was visually stunning at night and yet still beautiful during the day

The galley islands are connected by a timber benchtop which allows at least six people seated at their kitchen at any one time plus ensure the cook felt included in the conversation. In keeping with the luxury feel and colour palate of rich browns, copper, bronze and metallics, Corian Sorrel® was used for the benchtops and waterfall ends, creating a visually stunning room that was sure to be the talking point of the home.
