Bondi Kitchen

Laurie Liskowski is a Sydney based architect specialising in high end residential buildings- houses and apartments, interiors and lighting design.

In this project, the kitchen is set between copious light looking onto a garden and pool so it appears pavilion like. The kitchen bench top to be practical and light in appearance to compliment the light filled space. The white Corian® also compliments the timber feature ceiling. This design needed to be very precise as the kitchen depended on intense detailing to achieve the desired result.

Corian® was chosen for its practical application as a robust material for a kitchen and for its aesthetic appearance and its ability to create elegant curves.

The Corian® bench top is set apart from the cupboards under by a black 12mm shadow line as the kitchen is white with black horizontal highlights both in the joinery and the ceiling light shelf bounding the entire space. The curved edge quasi waterfall style gives an elegant touch to the kitchen bench and highlights the thinness of the material ,almost wax like in appearance… like a cloth draped over the cupboards.
