The votes have been tallied, the anticipation has peaked, and CASF is thrilled to announce the Grand Prize Winners of the prestigious 2023 Corian® Design Awards. The competition, recognizing outstanding design achievements within the Australian design industry, has once again showcased the remarkable ingenuity and creativity of local designers in their innovative use of Corian®.
Commercial Overall Winner: Robina Town Centre by i2C
Robina Town Centre, designed by i2C, has emerged as the Commercial Overall Winner, securing the coveted Grand Prize. The judges were captivated by the delightful blend of colour and form in this design, hailing it as “impressive” and recognizing its ability to highlight the versatility of Corian®. The project stood out for its visually striking yet highly functional application of the material within a public space. The judges commended the project for its bold, divergent thinking, dexterous material use, and impeccable craftsmanship.
The judging panel remarked, “This space is a colourful, fun, well-detailed environment with fit-for-purpose materials in play. A playful design that applies Corian® over multiple applications to achieve form, function, and accessibility for all users.”
Residential Overall Winner: Ora Apartments by MJA Studio
MJA Studio takes home the Residential Overall Winner title with their Ora Apartments project. The judges were impressed by the designer’s skillful leverage of the unique qualities of Corian® in creating a standout design. The fluid curves, thoughtful use of finishes, and sculptural elements earned high praise. The project’s coastal outlook was seamlessly integrated, achieving a stunning balance of design, manufacturing, and product selection.
The judges commented, “The Ora project is a stand out. The ultimate island for this coastal outlook. They have achieved the desired outcome with a sculptural piece that will capture attention. The perfect balance of design and manufacturing and product selection all coming together for a stunning piece of furniture.”

Karen Kunst, KJK Interiors: Studio director of KJK Interiors, Karen heads the award-winning Brisbane-based team, known for high-end finishes and attention to detail.
