2025 Corian® Design Awards Unveil Grand Prize Winners

We are thrilled to announce the winners of the Corian® Design Awards 2025, celebrating the creativity, skill and forward-thinking design within our industry. This year’s awards showcased an outstanding calibre of work, with four Residential and four Commercial finalists impressing the judging panel. The final decisions were incredibly close in both categories, reflecting the commitment, attention to detail and intelligent use of Corian® across every entry.

As judge Ingrid Kelly shared, “The high level of craftsmanship and innovative use of Corian® is exciting to see. All entrants fully used the seamlessness and limitless possibilities Corian® has to offer.”

Fellow judge Jessica Hersch added how enjoyable it was to see such variety in approach: “There was a good mix of simple, refined detailing and more expressive applications… What stood out most was that I even learned a few new capabilities of the material through the judging process.”

We commend all entrants for the thoughtful, refined and at times boundary-pushing ways they explored the versatility of Corian® Solid Surface. Congratulations to this year’s finalists and winners – and thank you for continuing to elevate the future of design.

Overall Commercial Winner: Melbourne Museum

“Our Wondrous Planet is a hugely significant project for us. By celebrating the wonder and beauty of our biodiverse planet, we’re hoping to inspire visitors to care for its future – and Corian® has been a brilliant material to help us create the gallery’s immersive worlds. We’re very proud to have been recognised by this fantastic award.”

– Hamish Palmer, Creative Director of Exhibitions at Museums Victoria.

THE PROJECT

Our Wondrous Planet at Melbourne Museum is a 1,800-square-metre gallery designed by Museums Victoria’s exhibition design team, immersing visitors in a multisensory journey across four major ecosystems — Reef, Soil, Rainforest and Ice — and three thematic zones exploring sustainable futures, the tree of life and First Peoples’ connection to Country.

The design integrates Corian® in two key biomes: organically curved interpretation rails in the Soil zone made from Corian® Dove, fabricated by ACRT, and dramatic backlit shards and glowing cubes in the Ice zone crafted from Corian® River Pearl by Show Works. These sculptural Corian® elements, celebrated for their durability, flexibility and seamless finish, help evoke the beauty and complexity of Earth’s systems, contributing to a highly popular exhibition that inspires wonder, connection and care for the natural world.

“The thought behind the back story of the exhibitions and how they have used the built form to reinforce the narrative was extremely impressive. A beautiful result.”

– Shirley Cooper

“The use of Corian® in the exhibition works seamlessly with the 2 biodomes they choose, it allowed for the integration of lights and movement essential to a successful exhibition. The longevity of the material will ensure the exhibition doesn’t date and age during its lifespan.”

– Ingrid Kelly

“What I appreciate most about this project is the way it creates an engaging and imaginative visitor experience. The design feels thoughtful and well resolved, guiding people through different environments in a way that is interesting and cohesive. The material choices, lighting and sculptural forms work together to create moments of curiosity without overwhelming the space. It feels creative, well considered and well executed, with a clear concept that comes through in every element. Overall, it shows a strong understanding of how people move through and interact with an immersive setting, which is why it is my pick in this category.”

– Jessica Hersch

Overall Residential Winner: Seidler Group City Apartment

“I am very honoured to have been selected as the residential category winner amongst such outstanding entrants. I am so pleased that the judges appreciated the intricate detail in the design and manufacturing of the integrated vanity unit which could only be achieved to that level of refinement by using Corian®.”

– Sarah Seidler, Head of Interior Design at Seidler Group

THE PROJECT

Seidler Group was tasked with designing a single, expansive penthouse-style residence by merging four apartments on the 22nd floor, preserving the sense of space the clients enjoyed in their previous home. Inspired by the clients’ love of travel, art, and culture, the design features carefully curated materials, textures, and colours to create refined, emotionally rich spaces.

The bathroom was conceived as a minimalist, functional environment, with a fully integrated Corian® Cameo White vanity crafted by ProSolid, featuring fluted drawer fronts and a seamless construction that reflects the home’s sophisticated aesthetic. Despite logistical challenges in working within an existing building, the project successfully achieved a cohesive and luxurious home that showcases panoramic city views while demonstrating the adaptability and performance of Corian® as a durable, low-maintenance, and beautifully refined material choice.

WHAT JUDGES SAID….

“The simplicity of the Seidler Group City Apartment is deceiving. What appears pared back at first glance hides an exceptional level of design and detailing, particularly in the vanity. The fluted drawers and the mitred edge are beautifully executed and the entire space feels cohesive and resolved. The result is elegant, crafted with real care and shows a strong creative approach with a modern aesthetic. This project is my vote for the winner.”

– Jessica Hersch

“The use of Corian® to develop visually interesting textures whilst maintaining a minimalist aesthetic exemplifies the true ability of the product.”

– Lisa Hunt

“While not an abundance of Corian® the simple elegance of the benchtop and fluted cupboard doors brings a sophistication to the room which is aesthetically beautiful.”

– Shirley Cooper

“Very high level of design intent and execution. The refined elegance and details showcase Corian® to its limitless capabilities.”
– Nathan Wundersitz
