McLeay House
Perth-based architect Paul Hofman is renowned for his exceptional attention to detail and commitment to creating beautiful, functional homes that reflect the unique needs of his clients. One of Hofman’s recent projects, a stunning 685m2 home in Swanbourne, is a perfect example of his design philosophy in action.
The home is organised around a large central courtyard with a swimming pool, providing privacy for both the owners and their neighbours. The courtyard also serves as an “internal view” and focus for the house, with the main open plan living space facing out towards the street and large sliding doors that open up to create a verandah.
One of the standout features of the home is the bespoke island bench in the open plan kitchen. It was essential that the bench appeared to be carved from the same material, and Hofman knew that only Corian® would provide the seamless, uninterrupted finish he was looking for.
Corian® is incredibly durable, malleable, and easy to work with. It is ideal for use in the kitchen, where seamless joins are essential for both aesthetics and hygiene. With Corian®, it is possible to create a sleek and modern look without compromising on functionality or durability.
