Collingwood by Shaynna Blaze
One of Australia’s most loved interior designers and TV presenters, Shaynna Blaze, invites viewers into her own creative and complex world as a working interior designer. In her new show, Deadline Design on Lifestyle, Shaynna and her team are employed by a real-life home owner to renovate their space. Shaynna has the uncanny ability of knowing what an owner needs, often before they do. She pushes her clients out of their comfort zone as she challenges their tastes, yet always delivers an incredible interior that fits their needs and personality like a glove. The resulting designs are fabulous, ingenious and sometimes, jaw-dropping.
The most enduring trend when it comes to kitchen surfaces is white, which is quite specific to the Australian climate and lifestyle. However, more and more homeowners are choosing to introduce bright colours or a bold black as well as timbers and textures in the splashback, dressed with decorative benchtop appliances. Overall, the palette remains neutral, but with more personality than the all-white trend so common over the last 10 years.
The Collingwood renovation of a 2 bedroom converted warehouse which was once a lolly factory, concentrated on increasing the functionality of the home whilst injecting personality into the minimalist look of the main open plan living area, kitchen, courtyard and loft style upstairs bedroom.
Corian® has been cleverly used in the Kitchen for the benchtops, integrated sink and adjacent bar. The clean lines of the kitchen can be fully appreciated within the scheme.
