Warm and Inviting
The beauty of working with reclaimed timber is the history left by the exposed nail and bolt holes that have been filled with black resin and sealed with a clear finish. The 80mm designer edge in Corian® Rain Cloud bench top compliments the adjacent feature timber capping which form part of this unique kitchen space.
The owners wanted to use the striking granite feature walls as a base to create a beautiful warming homely environment so particular care was taken with their choice of finishes. To this end timber is featured extensively in the home and the kitchen space is no exception with bespoke timber doors, panels and raised capping. DuPont Corian® Rain Cloud is the choice for the main benchtop as its unique veining aesthetic is in keeping with the palette of warm finishes and brings together a wonderful mix of materials making this an inviting space.
It was important for the owners for the kitchen to be the central focus of the home with an abundance of space and warmth. Living in a tourist destination where visitors, friends and family staying over so the kitchen had to comfortably accommodate several people at once.
The home being uniquely located in the mountains required durable finishes to complement its surrounds and this kitchen holds true to this as it features beautiful stone, natural timber and Corian® Rain Cloud with its organic veined aesthetic.
